I grew up in Birmingham, went to university in Liverpool, and after teaching English in Nigeria for two years, settled in Durham, where I have lived ever since. My degree was in French and German, with Russian and I still enjoy learning languages. I am currently studying Italian.
Availability: I am available any time Monday to Saturday. I prefer to teach online via zoom, but I can also travel to the student’s home.

Experience: I have been teaching French and German for more than 40 years, in schools across the North East of England. I have taught classes from Y7 to A level and have a good understanding of the requirements of the different exam boards. Since retiring from full-time teaching in 2016, I have done some supply work and have tutored more than a dozen private students. I specialise in helping students at GCSE or A level to improve their grades by giving them extra practice, filling in any gaps in their knowledge, or by simply boosting their confidence.

Dianne is a lovely lady who has just been tutoring my daughter for two weeks now ( German A Level) My daughter understands Dianne’s way of working and is enjoying her extra lessons very much.
