Experienced teacher of 11 years and Head of Computing at a school in the north east of England. I have experience in a wide range of GCSE and A Level Computing courses, and ICT. I specialise in OCR GCSE Computer Science whom I am an experienced examiner for.

Experience: I am currently Head of ICT and Computing at a school in the north east. I have taught Computer Science for 11 years at GCSE and 8 years at A Level. I have been teaching for 11 years and have been a head of department for 7. I have also taught a range of ICT courses from BTEC ICT, Creative iMedia and Cambridge Technical in ICT - Level 3.
I am an examiner for OCR, marking paper 1 of the GCSE Computer Science paper, which I have done for three academic years. I am a regular mentor for trainee teachers and also have developed a subject knowledge enhancement course to help trainee teachers upskill to the necessary required knowledge to be able to deliver GCSE Computer Science in a secondary school setting.
I am an approachable and understanding person, who will adapt his teaching to focus on the needs and ability of the students who I am responsible for and have an excellent history of gaining high level grades. I have experience of tutoring many students online who have different abilities and end goals. I plan and deliver sessions based on students’ needs and will adapt delivery and content of sessions based on feedback and the learning styles of my students.

David is extremely professional, helpful and knowledgeable. He is reliable, punctual and sends work through for the lesson in advance. My son has recently started GCSE coding lessons mainly on python with David. David is a helpful, flexible and approachable teacher. He asks which areas my son would like to focus on to improve and prepares lessons well in advance.
