Information about Tomas

I graduated from Lancaster University in 2014 with a degree in biochemistry. Since then I have worked a variety of casual/part-time jobs, as well an 11 month period where I was training to become an Operating Department Practitioner during which I would be on placement for 37.5 hours a week, interacting with patients from all walks of life as well as training in scrub and anaesthetic practice. I have since left the ODP course to pursue a masters in industrial biotechnology, which I have now begun.

My varied work experience, as well as my academic achievements, have helped me develop the high standard of professionalism, customer service, and reliability I`m sure you will expect from someone charged with you or your child`s education.

Note My photo ID and DBS certificate are tly pending review by the website, however if you wish to see these documents yourself before booking a session I have scanned copies of these and would be willing to bring them along to the first session.

Availability: I will be available evenings and weekends as well as some afternoons during the week.

As a masters student I can be quite flexible with my hours, so please enquire directly for more information.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: My undergraduate degree covered elements of biomedical science and biochemistry, with a main focus of molecular biology and it`s associated sub-topics which include medical and molecular genetics, cancer, cell signalling, biotechnology, and microbiology, as well as other areas such as anatomy and physiology.

During my short time studying on the ODP course I further studied human anatomy and physiology in the context of surgery and anaesthesia, eg how drugs given before and during surgery work and why they are used.

I am now tly reading for my masters in industrial biotechnology in order to build on my knowledge of molecular biology as well as to further develop my lab and research skills.
