Information about Ryan
I am a General Practice, Speciality Trainee, Year 2, Doctor. I have recently passed (first time) the written exam for the Membership of the Royal College General Practitioners with a score of 79% (pass mark 70%). During my practice, day to day, I continue to accumulate a wealth of knowledge regarding diagnostics and treatment for a variety of conditions and look forward to using this to educate medical students to help them understand their knowledge of subject matters and apply this to clinical medicine.
In my Final year OSCE exams I achieved a score of 84.5%. I have excellent communication skills and an excellent grasp of how to approach a consultation - including key questions to ask to illicit crucial information that can be used to distinguish between differential diagnoses.
During my training I have gained experience teaching medical students from Southampton, Buckingham and Oxford university. I provided a structured approach to every session, ensuring that there were clear and attainable objectives. I focus on ensuring a sound understanding of the physiology of each system to provide a solid basis when learning about the clinical aspects of disease.
I have a lot of experience tutoring medical students in non- clinical years as part of a "buddy scheme" at the University of Edinburgh Medical School. I am able to tailor delivery of information in a way that suits my students.
