Information about Ryan

I am a General Practitioner working in London. I have a special interest in medical education at undergraduate and postgraduate level and am also a Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. I am heavily involved in teaching 1st, 3rd and 5th year students from Imperial College who attend my GP Surgery on rotation. I have an excellent understanding of how to teach history taking and examinations to ensure a strong pass in OSCE`s. This involves a strong focus on building rapport and integrating the patient`s ideas, concerns, and expectations into the consultation model.

I obtained a Distinction in my Post Graduate Award from the University of Warwick in The Essentials Medical Education.

In my Final year OSCE exams at Edinburgh University. I achieved a score of 84.5%. I have excellent communication skills and an excellent grasp of how to approach a consultation - including key questions to ask to illicit crucial information that can be used to distinguish between differential diagnoses.

During my training I have gained experience teaching medical students from Southampton, Buckingham and Oxford university. I provided a structured approach to every session, ensuring that there were clear and attainable objectives. I focus on ensuring a sound understanding of the physiology of each system to provide a solid basis when learning about the clinical aspects of disease.
