Information about James
**MOST COMPETITIVELY PRICED OXBRIDGE TUTOR IN THE AREA** Additional discounts available for first 15 students - please contact me for more details.
I am an experienced and highly qualified tutor, studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at King`s College London, and holding a place to begin reading the same subject at Keble College, University of Oxford in October. I am well acquainted with the new GCSE specification and my tutoring style is based around continual support. As a result, I am available for contact at any time to proof read or give advice, at no extra cost. I am also available to tutor those requiring advice on UCAS applications and university admissions tests (in particular, the TSA).
Why my Methods Work:
-My lessons work on a basis of understanding and application. I begin by helping the student gain an understanding of the key concepts, while condensing them into personalised help-sheets to revise from. We will then move onto application of this knowledge to selected past-paper questions. This method allows students to both practise what they have learnt and become acquainted with their examination, while also leaving them with important revision materials, personal to them.
-I will provide students with personalised homework which I create to address the student`s weaker areas. This allows the student to continue targeted practise, even when I am not present. The answer sheet will be e-mailed on request.
-I perform a unique service in exam pattern identification. Outside of tutorial time, I will take a closer look at the past-papers of the student`s subject and exam board. This allows me to find reoccurring themes and questions. Passing this knowledge onto a student can help their revision become more structured, while allowing them to see familiarity and comfort in otherwise daunting exam questions.
-Most importantly, I remain the student`s tutor outside of paid time. I would be happy to proof read essays, answer questions and give advice with no extra charge.
I hope you decide to study with me, and I look forward to witnessing your every success!
Availability: I am very flexible and will make every effort to tutor at times that suit the student, as this is an important part of making the most of study.
Please contact me with your preferred times and we will arrange accordingly.

Experience: -I have gained entry to both the University of Oxford and King`s College London. As a result, I am also available to help with UCAS applications and university entrance exams (in particular, the TSA)
-I achieved A*A*A*A at A-level, in Mathematics, History, EPQ and Law respectively. I was also the highest achieving history student at my school in the 2016 academic year.
-I left my secondary school with the best GCSEs, on point average. I achieved 7A*s and 3As, as well as a Pre-U in French.
-My essay writing extends beyond the curricular, having completed a research project on the justification for democracy in correspondence with Think Tank, the Bow Group.
-I am well acquainted with the new GCSE specification, having tutored a girl taking exams under this system. This is a rare quality among tutors.
