I’m an Oxford educated tutor specialising in online learning and exam prep. I work with a focus on succeeding at GCSE level and work to prepare students for the transition to higher education and further training. I`m a professional tutor with eleven years and over 10`000 hours of tuition experience. In addition to this I`m a member of the National Tutors` Association, the professional guild which oversees and quality controls professional tutors in the UK.

In my tuition practice I focus on two main areas - languages (Spanish and French) and core subjects (English and Maths).

I studied Spanish and French to a high level and have taught in both countries. Languages are my greatest passion so it`s very natural for me to share this through teaching. My approach to language teaching is based on the research of Dr Eric Pimsleur, a linguist who made ground-breaking strides in the field of language acquisition. In addition, I focus a lot professionally on English and Maths as these are the subjects which build the key skills required for further study and later in the professional world. It gives me great joy to see students attain the grades that they need in order to progress to the next stage in life.

As well as doing online on-to-one classes, I`m the author of the Just Pass English GCSE text and video guide. This is a multi-media course that prepares students for the GCSE English Language Exam. The guide is aimed specifically at students who are struggling on the pass-fail borderline as I have found that this group is students is under served with regard to resources.

I hold a BA and MA from the University of Oxford. I`ve had the good fortune to work with hundreds of students over the years, both in the UK and abroad.

Five years ago I began tutoring online. Since September 2019 I have been tutoring exclusively online.
I use a shared whiteboard and a video link. I find that students focus extremely well online and that the classes are as good, or better than traditional classes. In addition, online tuition makes scheduling classes easier for students and parents.

I work with students at all levels. Whatever a students profile, it`s almost certain that I have worked with dozens if not hundreds of similar students over the years. I consider the role of a great tutor to facilitate every student`s progress and to expand a student`s view of what they might achieve.

Availability: I tutor online. At the moment I have slots available on Monday and Thursday.

Experience: I have 11 years of experience in preparing pupils for national exams.

I have taught in the UK, France and Spain - in both the public and private sector. I have also worked with most of the top tuition agencies in the UK and some overseas. In addition to this, I`m a member of the National Tutors` Association.

On average, students undertaking a course of tuition of six months or longer with me have seen an increase of two grades. Even for students only undertaking tuition for a couple of months it is common to see at least a grade increase. As tuition is my chosen profession, it has been great to see many pupils succeed in their exams and often surpass their own expectations as well as those of their parents and teachers. Bringing out a pupil`s potential is the most rewarding aspect of being a tutor.
