I am an experienced science teacher with 25 years of experience teaching Chemistry to A level, and both Physics and Chemistry to GCSE. I have a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge university and a PGCE from there too.
I love helping students on a 1:1 basis and find that people really enjoy my style of teaching. I never make assumptions about what students should know, and encourage them to admit what they find difficult - often it is the basic principles which students may have missed, and subsequently never felt able to ask for help. This is particularly true of the Covid cohort who have missed out on so much vital school time. No question is ever silly.
I have a proven track record of successful private tutoring and I have had many medical/ vet/ dental students who have gone from low grades to A and A*.
Physical chemistry is my absolute favourite thing - if you struggle with calculations, enthalpy, acids and buffers etc then I am your secret weapon!
I have comprehensive notes, banks of questions and other great resources that I am happy to share with you too.

I currently teach OCR Chemistry at A level, but have also taught AQA.
I also have four teenage children of my own, so I really understand what it is that students need to motivate them and keep them engaged!
