Information about Philip
Oxford PhD student, with a first class degree in philosophy, and a masters degree from Oxford, offering Philosophy, Religious Studies, Theology, English, Economics and Entrance Exam tuition. Can teach online or in person in Oxford or West London.
In teaching students, I aim to improve their essay writing and exam techniques so that they are ready to tackle their GCSEs, A Levels, Pre-Us, University Exams, etc. I understand that each student will require a different approach for them to succeed. In the first lesson, I will aim to establish a lesson plan that works best for the student. I value regular feedback and adjust according to the progress of the student.
I highly value the Oxbridge tutorial system and will aim to structure at least some of the lessons after this system.
I have experience in teaching A-Level and Undergraduate students, and have also taught in a classroom setting to 11-15 year olds.
I have recently published a paper in a professional journal: What Does it Mean to Call God Good? Heythrop Journal, 22 May 2023
