I am a friendly helpful teacher who wants to see every pupil succeed. I have taught in many settings from the inner city, to the leafy suburbs to the village school. I have tutored students through GCSE English language and literature, enabling pupils to get an A* and more recently an 8. I have also supported pupils for Oxford entrants exams, who have gone on to gain 1st class honours in English from Oxford University. My love of English is immense but I do feel my love of supporting pupils to realise their fullest potential is greater. For undergraduates I am happy to discuss matters of literature and linguistics;my job and studies have allowed me to be fairly well read as well as honing my ability to critique and appraise literature or explore and analyse language. Experience: 15 years of teaching English up A level. I have Have been a head of English and a senior teacher overseeing the English dept. I have been a GCSE examiner for English literature, and an A level examiner for English lang/lit combined and English language. I am currently teaching English in a Wiltshire secondary school whilst being a senior teacher and A level English examiner. My in depth and up to date knowledge of GCSE and A level specifications is certainly an advantage to supporting any student on these courses.
