Information about Leigh

I am currently working online, with a few vacancies for the academic year starting September 2022. I am particularly keen to help students with GCSEs or A Levels exams coming up in 2023.
I really love mathematics and the challenge of explaining it to others. I have a 2.1 degree in maths and a diploma in statistics as well as a degree in psychology. I am DBS cleared. I try to build confidence and enjoyment as this is the best way to improve results. I am very patient!

Availability: I have plenty of daytime availability during the week, and some limited availability weekday evenings.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have tutored at 11+, GCSE, A Level and adult level over the last 4 years. Prior to this I worked as a government statistician and coached fast stream graduates. I also tutor as a volunteer for a charity that targets the improvement of GCSE results for year 11s from deprived backgrounds.

Unfortunately, we had a schedule clash and so we only met Leigh shortly; however, she`s a very positive and encouraging person and appears very suited to coaching young students.

Leigh taught me for around 3 months which is reasonably short for having to teach 6 different modules of a level maths, and she did it superbly. Always going above and beyond the call of duty and having endless material to practice any kind of question. She helped me understand the hardest of questions that other tutors couldn’t help me with and if not will spend her own time finding the answer and send it with explanation. She also never allowed the lessons to get boring which helps in a stressful time of revision. Would definitely recommend
