Information about William
I am an experienced teacher who has taught eight years in comprehensive schools. I have taught students from the ages of 11-19 in all the science subjects. My students have been able to achieve top results and some have gone on to study subjects including Veterinary Medicine, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Physics at University.
I am passionate about science and am always curious to find out more about the world around us.
Availability: I am available for tuition in the evenings of weekdays and at weekends.
Update-with the impact of coronavirus all face to face tuition has stopped. I have moved to doing tuition on Skype until things go back to normal. If this works with you get in touch. I also therefore have some availability in the day too.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: As a qualified teacher with eight years of experience, I am knowledgeable about the different ways that students learn. I am well versed in adapting work to suit the needs of learners and make sure the work that they are doing is appropriate for their level.
I have taught all three sciences up to GCSE level and have taught A-level Physics and Chemistry for seven years. I have experience teaching GCSE science for the AQA and OCR exam boards.
My subject knowledge is very secure and I am knowledgeable about the exam board specifications. Years of preparing students for exams means I know how topics are commonly tested. I also can teach students how to approach exam questions and what phrases and keywords are usually required to maximise marks.
I am an approachable individual who gets on well with my students. I aim to identify where my students have knowledge gaps and misunderstandings that hinder their progress. Once students have understand the fundamentals of the different sciences they will pick up new material far more quickly and will be able to make links between the different topics.
At GCSE and A level it is important to have a particular focus on past exam papers. These can identify weak areas but are also vital for building confidence and exam technique.
For A level, a key part of the work I do with tutees is helping them learn and revise effectively. We talk about the most up to date science behind learning methods and aim to maximise their revision hours. As an A level tutee you will be able to contact me between sessions by email or text. Many students have found this helpful if they get stuck on homework questions or are unsure on something before a class test! This is included in the normal tuition fee.

We are very fortunate and grateful to have had William as my daughter`s A-Level Physics and Chemistry tutor. He has been very helpful through out the year in preparing for exams by going through past papers and reviewing specific topics. Our daughter is on track to achieve A* in both subjects. We highly recommend William as an excellent tutor of these subjects.

Will Ludlow has been excellent for Will so far. He is prompt in reply to parents, arrives on time for lessons and has a super demeanor in relation to being calm with the pupil. He has a very positive attitude to being able to help the pupil too. He`s only been with us since June, but things are going well.

I wish we had found Will sooner. He has recently started tutoring my 16 year old daughter and she states she has learnt more in a few lessons than she has all, year at school. She happily has her tutor lesson after a long day and Will made her feel at ease within the first few minutes of meeting her. Her confidence is growing with each lesson and I would thoroughly recommend Will to anyone requiring extra assistance with their gcse science.

We are very glad that we found Will. He has been wholly reliable and supportive. In a very short time our daughter understood more with Will`s lead than she had during the whole of the previous year of A level physics tuition in school. Highly recommended.

Will has given my son Ben so much confidence through his physics tuition for his AS levels. He asks Ben what his topics of concern are and then has looked at these areas, along with exam techniques and revision tips. I would highly recommend Will as a private tutor, he is patient and very approachable, giving Ben the confidence to enter his AS exam period.
