Information about Charles

I am a tutor who teaches History of Art A Level and English Literature and Language GCSE Level. I love to teach in a creative way and thoroughly enjoy inspiring students in their subject. I try to adapt my lessons to suit the character of the student. I am also a trained `Teacher of English as a Foreign Language` and have been working for one year teaching many one to one classes in Bristol.

Availability: Available 24/7.

Willing to travel: 12 miles

Experience: Preparation of four students at John Cabot Academy for English Language and Literature GCSE 2016. One to one teaching of a student for English Language GCSE 2016. Introduction of a student to History of Art `A` Level. The student gained entrance to Badminton School to study History of Art `A` Level 2016. Teaching English as a Foreign Language since April 2015. Taught for British Study Centres in the Summer of 2017 at two campuses, Wycliffe College and Cheltenham Ladies College. Received a superb teacher`s appraisal at the end of my contract.

Since 2017 I have taught again at British Study Centres in 2018 and 2019. I was responsible in 2018 for teaching both an IELTS class and an adults class over the duration of the summer school which lasted six weeks. I taught courses following the Cambridge exams which covered mainly the FCE and CAE Cambridge exams plus preparing one student for Proficiency(the top Cambridge exam). In 2019 I again taught an adults class and also taught two extra courses, one called `English for future leaders` and the other a creative writing course in whuch students wrote a play which was then staged at the end of the term, quite an achievement for those who did not have English as their first language! I also ran an art class where students were asked to build their ideal city from materials found on the street. This was called `Utopia`..

Since 2014 I have taught many many adult students , mostly those who have come to England to work. This unfortunately has been a declining area of my work due to Brexit but I have taught over 500 professionals whose jobs varied from a psychiatrist to an auditor to a lawyer to a motorbike technician to someone who was entering an apprenticeship for Dyson..

I have taught young children also and use the Montessori and Steiner methods of teaching. Getting down to the child`s level and letting them flow and learn according to their own capabilities and potential. I have taught literacy to adult students also.
