Hello! My name is Edward (Edd) and I am a musician from the north of England. I recently completed my Masters degree in Music at the University of Oxford, having recently gained a first class degree in Music (with Honours) from King`s College London in 2018. In my studies I have focused on Classical Performance in Piano, for which I trained at the Royal Academy of Music, as well as musicology and historical research into the music of Bach and the eighteenth-century.

I am passionate about education, learning, and of course music in particular. My approach to teaching is a holistic one, in which I try to find what my students are most interested in related to music, and to pique there interest from there and incorporate this into a wider course of learning that will, if so desired, lead to an exam with the ABRSM (Associated Board for the Royal Schools of Music). As you will see from my resume, I have a wealth of experience from taking these exams and know the criteria extremely well.

I am willing to teach all ages up to grade 8 and enter them for exams if so desired. For those wishing to go beyond this level, I am willing to give consultation lessons and teach grade five theory so that students can go further in their musical eduction.

For those skeptical about a purely classical grounding in music, I also have much experience in the world of electronic music and I am by no means restricted to one genre. However, I would aim to inspire all my students to reap the benefits of an education in classical repertoire.

I am also an avid reader and interested in all the humanities, and hold a good level of German having studied in Vienna, and I am also learning French as part of my masters degree.
