As well as a strong academic and professional background, I possess a keen interest in sport. I play football and hockey socially with friends. Additionally I enjoy swimming, cycling and fell-walking. I am also an avid reader of newspapers and a wide variety of books. Furthermore I enjoy traveling to other countries to experience their varied cultures and traditions.

I have served as a School Governor for seven years, being elected to serve as chairman of the Finance Committee responsible for managing the school budget. Other responsibilities as a Governor included the recruitment and appointment of a new headteacher and leadership team. The most recent OFSTED assessment classed the school as Good despite it being in an area of significant economic disadvantage.

I now serve as the trustee of a charity, St Bernard Support that provides assistance to people affected by life limiting illnesses.

Availability: I have flexible availability depending upon commitments to the charity where I serve as a trustee.
