Information about Viral

Dear Parents and Students,

My name is Viral and I graduated from University College London (UCL) with an MEng in Chemical Engineering, achieving first class honours in 2021. This course required a vast amount of Maths, Chemistry and Physics. My knowledge for these subjects has only risen when I began university. I have taken concepts from my GCSE’s and A-levels and learnt them in much more depth. As a result, I am very confident in teaching both GCSE’s and A-Levels subjects.

I have taught many students over the past few years, and I enjoy tutoring as both a full-time and part-time job. Maths and Science has always been my specialist subjects, and I enjoy imparting my knowledge to the younger generation. My passion for helping students to succeed positions me to significantly impact my student`s education.

____________

What I offer

EFFECTIVE LESSON PLANS
I am dedicated to creating effective lesson plans that cater to the student`s strengths and abilities. Each lesson will comprise of fully understanding the content (through note-taking etc.) before consolidating their understanding through different styles of exam questions tailored to their subject specification. Along with weekly homework as well as monthly topic tests, I will ensure that each topic is fully understood before building on this with newer topics.

FINDING THE RIGHT LEARNING HABITS
I believe that the ability to learn effectively is a skill. As there are multiple learning techniques, I spend the initial lesson understanding the student’s various learning habits and how they grasp onto information best; this will allow me to work out where the students lack in knowledge and where they’re falling short, and I will adapt my teaching to their weak points. Every student is different, and I will ensure to find the right learning style for each one.

BEING FLEXIBLE AND PATIENT
It is very common for a student to not fully understand a concept straight away. As such, I creatively come up with a new way of explaining ideas, as well as altering my teaching styles and approaches e.g., using real life references and examples whenever possible. As many Maths/Science topics are interlinked with one another, I will ensure that the student understands the foundation first before moving onto building new knowledge from this.

CONFIDENCE BUILDING
In addition to providing many exam questions which helps to boost confidence on a given topic, I consistently build a rapport with my students and try to encourage a growth mindset - this allows them to be better equipped to deal with challenges in particular the more difficult exam questions. As a private tutor, being supportive is key. By encouraging and reassuring my students that it is okay to be unsure about a topic, they are able to take more ownership of their own learning and identify their own weaknesses to spend more time on.

WEEKLY FEEDBACK
Giving feedback students and parents not only helps to ensure that the student is being guided in the right direction, but also gives me the opportunity to inform them they can do to improve and set long-term goals.

____________

I thorough enjoy what I teach, and continuously find different ways of teaching. As such, I look forward to helping you with the best of my ability!

Thank you,
Viral

Viral, has actually blown me away with his commitment to help and his drive to ensure that I understand and develop confidence in using excel and manage data reporting. I love the way he explains things helping me to ask questions because that’s how I learn. he is patient despite my questions sounding simple by giving me the confidence to build on my understanding and work through things at my pace. Viral always goes the extra mile to make sure that I’ve understood, he has set me homework and followed up on things by asking if I need further help to strengthen my understanding. He regularly shares shortcuts and boost my confidence with praise and feedback. I thoroughly recommend Viral and definitely will be going back to him as needed to further help me to learn how to continue to use Excel and report on data. Thank you Viral.
