From my experience of teaching children at all ages and abilities in mainstream co-educational schools I have developed useful personal qualities as a teacher. For example, I am patient and understand how children learn and also appreciate that they progress at different rates. Therefore I adapt my teaching around the needs of the student so progress is matched to clear and achievable goals within an agreed timeframe. I am also approachable and easy to work with which allows my tutees to relax and engage in a safe but purposeful environment.

Availability: I am available afternoons/evenings between 6-8pm

Experience: I am a teacher of English with 19 years of experience at KS3-5. For the last 6 years I have been Head of English at a 11-19 high school and sixth form through which I have gained a wealth of knowledge, not just of the curriculum but also teaching and learning at all key stages. As an English practitioner I have taught at all levels and am versatile in my approach to teaching/tutoring so it fits the needs of the learner.
