Information about Alan
I am a Mechanical Engineer who qualified from Plymouth university with a 2:1 honours.
I have a lot of experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Mathematics and Physics and am familiar with all exam boards. My experience as a Mechanical Engineer provides me with a unique ability to teach these subjects as they are something I have studied in detail and practise daily. I have many students who I have helped achieved grade 7 or higher at GCSE and A-B level at A level.
My usual approach to tutoring is examination focused, which includes fine tuning knowledge and examination technique. I also go in depth into specific areas of subjects to improve the depth of the students knowledge where it is needed.
Both students and parents have been very happy with my approach to tutoring. I greatly enjoy the confidence my students gain after our lessons.

Alan has been a fantastic tutor for my son, Ivan. From the very beginning, he was patient, supportive, and always willing to explain things in a way that made sense. Ivan had some gaps in his Maths knowledge and needed help catching up, but with Alan`s guidance he has made great progress and gained much more confidence in the subject. Alan was always encouraging and helped him stay motivated, especially during the lead-up to his exams. What we appreciated most was that Alan genuinely cared about Ivan`s progress and success. Lessons were always well organised, and Ivan felt comfortable asking questions whenever he was unsure about something.
