Hello! I am an enthusiastic and approachable UEA student seeking experience in private tutoring. I am currently studying for a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature, having graduated from my Literature BA last year with a First. I am passionate about the creative communication of ideas; for example I have performed educational stand-up comedy at Norwich`s `Pint of Science` science communication event two years running. I will work with pupils to find the teaching approach that suits them best.

Experience: I have received some training in working with a secondary school age group from my work as a UEA Futures Advocate, where we were trained to run higher education workshops in secondary schools. Skills which the training focussed on included time management within sessions, tailoring material to different age groups and upholding school safeguarding practices. I also have a certain amount of teaching experience from the year I spent running two university choirs and the two years spent on the committee of UEA’s comedy society. As choir leader, I taught new music on a weekly basis, finding ways to make the difficult parts memorable and adjusting my material and rehearsal schedule based on the speed of members’ learning. As secretary of the comedy society, I ran a number of workshops teaching the basics of improvised comedy or focussing on particular improv skills.
