Sofiya

I currently work at an inner-London school teaching Sociology to years ten to thirteen. I have also worked at a school in a prestigious inner London Academy as an A-Level and GCSE Sociology teacher, obtaining 92% A*-A in my year thirteen class.

I also taught Geography up to GCSE.

I hold an MPhil in the Sociology of Marginality and Exclusion from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Human, Social, Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Coming from a state comprehensive school I know and appreciate the value of education. I achieved top GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate grades while having lots of extra-curricular interests and part-time jobs. I am able to tutor in these humanities: English Literature, Human Geography, Politics and Sociology.

Experience: I have worked at a Graduate Teacher of Sociology and Geography for over a year now.

I have a wide experience of working with young people. I have completed a placement in an excellent inner-city comprehensive, observing and assisting with pupils` learning. In addition, I have volunteered for Model UN for successive years, working with young people to develop their self-confidence and public speaking skills. At my university, I mentored several groups of prospective students and encouraged them to apply. I am embarking on a teaching role in September which involves working with struggling students, which demonstrates my suitability for tutoring.
