Information about Sam
Hi, my name is Sam and I graduated from The University of Bath with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2015.
Since graduating I have moved to Henley to pursue my dream of rowing at an Olympics and I am now training full time with the Great Britain team. I hope the tutoring will provide me with vital experience in teaching as I would like to consider teaching as a profession after rowing.
I am an extremely friendly person and I enjoy working with people and helping them achieve their goals and aims. I know what can be achieved with hard work and believe this can said in all works of life.
Availability: Weekday evenings
I am away on training camps roughly every two months for two weeks at a time where I cant do sessions.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: This is my sixth year tutoring A level and GCSE PE and over the past 6 years all of my tutees improved in their exam resits or achieved higher than was predicted of them. One student who was taking an AS level resit improved from an E grade to an A (references can be supplied).
Prior to this, I helped both my younger brother and sister with their GCSE`s and A levels and both of them achieved great results and have since gone on to study at university.
I also gained some experience while I was at school when, during my free lessons in 6th form, I was asked by my maths teacher to help out in a bottom set GCSE maths class. I really enjoyed helping as it made me look at maths from a different angle so I was then able to explain the problems and concepts to the students in a way in which they understood. It was also a very rewarding experience when you could see the impact your help was having.
