Information about Steve
I am an experienced teacher of A level and GCSE Chemistry. I am interested in Chemical Education at all levels. I enjoy working one-to-one or in small groups.
Availability: I am available most times and days by negotiation with the student. Evenings are most popular, inevitably, but many students have some time in the morning or afternoon and this can be very helpful.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have taught A level Chemistry continuously from 1983.I have worked in a range of schools as Head of Science or Head of Chemistry. I was Chair of Examiners for a major Examination Board for a number of years and am a published chemistry author. As an experienced former 6th Form tutor I have spent a great deal of time giving advice on personal statements and practice interviews.

Steve taught my son starting in the summer of year 12 up to the A level exams in year 13. He would ask my son what topic he would like to look at and would explain the topic in a way that was very easy to understand. He would also provide notes and exam style questions that would help to keep the teaching engaging even out of lesson time. Steve`s tutoring enabled my son to achieve an A in AQA A level Chemistry. He is very friendly and kind and I would highly recommend him as a tutor.
