Hi there, I’m Connor! I’m currently an undergraduate at the University of Exeter and specialise in teaching English, History and Politics across the secondary age range, from Key Stage 3 through to A Level.

Having tutored privately for four years, alongside a full-time job teaching English at an ’Outstanding’ (as rated by Ofsted) London secondary school, I consider myself an experienced and capable tutor with the necessary skills and expertise to enable improvement in your child.

Supporting a wide range of students over the years has allowed me to quickly and confidently established tailored teaching approaches for every new student with whom I work, and your child will be no exception. Working collaboratively with them, I will formulate a comprehensive plan which will then form the basis for lessons going forward. This means that you will be able to feel comfortable that your child is receiving personal support which is tailored to their individual needs, and that you will know specifically in which areas they are improving.

I consider both the enhancement of subject knowledge and the development of exam technique to be wholly complementary, and thus equally critical in bringing about meaningful improvement in any student. This is why I will ensure that each of my lessons will supplement work that has already been completed at school, providing your child with a space in which they can consolidate their knowledge of specific content whilst also honing in on the fundamental skills which examiners are looking for.

Regardless of how your child learns, or the areas in which they require support, each of my lessons will be delivered in a way that is fun and engaging, but equally as productive and valuable in securing improvement. I hope to foster a learning environment in which my students look forward to entering, and hope to instil in them a rooted passion for my subjects which extend far beyond the confines of the classroom or exam hall.

Having only recently sat the reformed GCSEs and A Levels, I find myself in an ideal position to provide first-hand guidance and advice which I know will help my students to achieve the exceptional results that we all wish to see.

Experience: I initially began tutoring friends and family, but have since decided to branch out to help people in whatever way I can considering the serious impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on education following the national lockdowns that have lead to school closures.

I have worked with a range of students across different age ranges, ranging from primary school through to A Level. I have tutored History, Politics and English, with experience of teaching English at a London secondary school that has an Ofsted rating of `Outstanding`.

Having experience of the linear, reformed GCSEs and A Levels means that I have a first-hand understanding of the techniques and methods that students will need to use in their exams.
