Information about Steve
I am a final year medical student studying in St Georges University of London. I have done a previous degree in Neuroscience (BSc) (Hons), for which I received a First-Class Honours. As a medical student I have learnt that as a doctor, you are not just a scientist but a teacher to your patients. Information giving is a key part of your job, and make sure that the patient is able to understand what you are explaining. I want to approach my teaching in the similar way as well, where I will break down complex scientific concepts into simple terms, with finding a way that works best for my tutee. I have also been working part-time as a cashier in Tesco since 2008. Balancing part-time work with my full-time education has helped me develop excellent organisational skills and I hope to help my tutees with managing their time as well.
Availability: I am generally available during the weekends as I study in London but come home during the weekend. Hence, I can teach during the weekend.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I dont have a formal teaching experience. However, I have taught numerous revision session as part of neuroscience representative to younger years. Currently I am clinical skills peer tutor, which involves teaching students in younger years, how to perform clinical examinations and taking histories from a patient.
