Information about Rajveer
am currently studying medicine at the University of Birmingham and have a passion for mathematics and science. I have tutored a wide range of students, covering a variety of different examinations, from 11+ entrance exams to medical school examinations. I have always been interested in exploring beyond the constraints of the modern syllabus, taking part in academic activities that encourage doing so. I am passionate about problem solving, a trait which has led me from school into the constantly evolving realm of medicine.
I am also a well rounded individual, partaking in many extra-curricular activities, such as playing football as well as being a football writer and setting up my own football podcast. Therefore, I understand the value of time management and organisational skills, which I try to instil into my tutees.
A major part of my teaching places emphasis on mentoring students, alongside their academic syllabus, to figure out their best learning style. Each student learns most efficiently with a unique style. I like to get to know the way the tutee responds to different teaching styles, enabling me to tailor sessions that cover all of the relevant topics, addressing any problems along the way. For me, understanding the content, rather than learning to recite, is the best way for school students to develop into academics for life.
My ultimate goal is not only to teach students their syllabus content, but also teach them how to learn new information on their own. This is a skill not covered in great detail within the constraints of the modern school syllabus, preventing school students from finding out how to work when they are not in the classroom.
