I have currently been in teaching for thirty-six years and my career has spanned both primary and secondary schools; initially seven as a special needs co-ordinator in a primary school, and then nineteen as a SENCO in a secondary school. During this time, I have been fortunate in having worked with a diverse range of students including, students with ASD, refugees, students with disabilities and complex needs, students recovering from brain surgery, students recovering from personal traumas, blind children, students being reintegrated from special schools, and many more. I have particularly had a great deal of success in tutoring students with dyslexia and I have a qualification in educational testing. I am currently a part time SENCO in a primary setting.
In addition to this, I am a qualified psychology teacher and am familiar with all current specifications for GCSE and A level, including the new specification for AQA, introduced in September 2015. I have taught Psychology across key stage four and five for the last fourteen years, and have a comprehensive bank of resources to assist students understand some of the more complex concepts in the subject. One of my particular strengths is assisting students in drafting their own revision materials in preparation for the exams.
