Fully qualified Teacher currently working as Head of Physics in a local grammar school. The Physics courses are always demanding requiring detailed understanding of intricate concepts. Unfortunately, with the best will in the world a lot of students don’t grasp these ideas first time around and some are not confident enough to ask for them to be covered again in class. Time constraints in the classroom add to this problem resulting in gaps in knowledge going unchecked. I work to counteract these problems using various techniques and issuing resources that allow the student to practice, practice, practice resulting in the consolidation of the knowledge acquired.

Availability: I take one group of students for AS (year 13) and one for A2 (Year 14) each year. Each group consists of a maximum of 3 students. The small group dynamic works well as it allows students to breathe in each session rather than feel under constant pressure, the other members of the group can also ask questions highlighting a point that the others mightn’t have even realised they didn’t understand.

Experience: Fully qualified Teacher, BEng Engineering, Queens University Belfast and PGCE specialising in Physics, St Marys, Strawberry hill, London. Teaching for nearly 20 years GCSE and A-Level. Marking CCEA GCSE and A-Level modules exams for over 10 years.
