Information about Helen
I have always been fascinated by languages and my overall aim is to provide a safe environment in which to learn and experiment with language. I welcome tutees of any age. Although I usually teach face-to-face, I can switch to online lessons via Zoom, if necessary.
I can also help with spelling, punctuation and grammar in English.
Availability: I am available during the day, some evenings and Saturdays.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: Since qualifying as a languages teacher, I spent over 20 years teaching languages in a local secondary school. I now run small groups for home educated children at both primary and secondary level as well as tutoring on a one-to-one basis.
Before qualifying as a teacher, I spent over two years living and working in Austria where I taught English to adult learners.

Helen is an enthusiastic and very capable teacher who very quickly assessed my daughter’s level of understanding and then set about working with her to build her confidence in German. She prepares really well for tutoring sessions and uses a number of up to date and interesting resources. She gives clear instruction for homework set. My daughter feels she has made great progress in a very short period of time with Helen’s support.
