Darcey

My name is Darcey. I am a passionate music teacher where music is my life! I have lived in London for 5 years now having moved from Sussex and I absolutely love the hustle and bustle of the city. I love going to the theatre, especially to see musicals of all different types. My whole family are musicians and people used to call us the Von Trapp family going up! I play the piano, violin, oboe and I sing. I enjoy playing and listening to a range of music from Bach all the way to the Spice girls (my era!). I also have a real thing for country music and hope one day to visit Nashville.
If people were to describe me, they`d say I was very personable, hard working and determined. Because of my experience of working in all different types of school (in the state and private sector) I am used to working with a range of students of differing personalities. I am very adaptable and look forward to helping you score the very best mark you can get!

Experience: I have been teaching music now for over 10 years and have been awarded my QTS with `outstanding` and also have a PGCE in secondary school Music education accredited from the University of Sussex. I have been teaching Edexcel GCSE Music for 6 years and have had excellent results with my exam classes year upon year. Just last year, 14/15 of my students were awarded a `9`. I have ample experience teaching Edexcel A level too and similarly have had brilliant results. I have also taught Eduqas GCSE and have very good expertise of this. Currently I am teaching AQA A level and so I have a brilliant subject knowledge in this exam board and know what it takes to get the top marks.

I have privately tutored for 5 years now and really enjoy getting to know more young people outside of the school that I teach in. I currently work at a top London day school in South East London, where there is a highly academic environment and so I know how to get those top marks for my students. My subject knowledge is outstanding and I have a wealth of resources from my many years of teaching Edexcel, Eduqas and AQA.

On top of private tutoring, I have also taught as a peripatetic piano, violin and singing teacher for over 10 years. I really enjoy this too and it`s a lovely contrast from a classroom setting where I am five days a week.
