I`m Maria, a native speaker of Russian, and I`m passionate about teaching and learning languages. I have helped dozens of students to discover Russian, build their speaking confidence, develop their grammar in a systematic way, prepare for school and university exams (in particular GCSE and A-level, but also interim university exams, DLPT) and to achieve their personal language-learning goals.

I hold a PhD in linguistics from Moscow State University, BA in teaching English as a Foreign Language and a certificate in teaching Russian as a Foreign Language, and have many years of experience working with learners of different ages and levels teaching both in Russia and in the UK. In addition to teaching Russian, I`m a volunteer tutor at a secondary school in England where I support students in working towards a higher grade in GCSE English.

I believe that language learning should be both effective and enjoyable. My lessons combine clear explanations, practical communication, authentic materials, and a supportive atmosphere in which students feel comfortable making mistakes and building confidence.
