Hello, I`m Kate.

I am lecturer and tutor for English KS3, GCSE and the 11+ exam. I prepare students for exams, and cover the main boards - AQA, Edexcel, WJEC and OCR. For entrance exams, I coach towards entrance to schools such as St Pauls, Westminster, Wycombe Abbey and City of London - to name but a few! I work online through skype and google docs. Working in a shared document online allows my students and I to read and annotate texts together, and to write and edit in real-time. Skype allows us the discuss the work as we do so.

We will begin our program of study with an informal chat to meet each other and discuss the students needs and aspirations. In the first session we will perform an assessment - this will allow me to gauge the student`s ability and adapt work to suit their needs.

After each tutorial, I write a report that outlines the topics we have covered, and becomes a means to track progress throughout the sessions. I keep this log on a google document and add the most recent entry to the top of the page. This log will be shared with parents and guardians every week/ fortnight depending on requirements.

In between sessions, I am on-hand by text or email.


About me:

I have first class degree in English Literature from St Andrews and an MA in Authorial Practice. My work has been recognized by numerous awards and scholarships.

I have worked as a professional tutor for 5 years.
