Information about Rachel

I am a 21-year-old female student in my final year of my degree in English literature and French.
I am hard working and love the french language, having studied it for 6 years and having lived in Grenoble last year and studied at Université Stendhal Grenoble 3 for one year of my degree.

I am friendly, patient and conscientious, willing to create lessons and suitable materials, tailored to learners, with specific goals in mind or simply for fun or a hobby. I have recent experience with GCSE french and A level French, if this is the requirement of the student I can certainly provide adequate assistance. Needs or wishes of the student can be discussed beforehand and will be accommodated accordingly.

Fully DBS checked, enhanced, basic and overseas covered. Fully qualified current French in-school tutor.

Availability: I am available this summer for lessons on weekdays and weekends, to be arranged.

I am also widely available for help in proofreading or advice for assignments online via email.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I am an in-school part time French teacher, working on primary schools in the Newcastle upon Tyne catchment area with ages 2-12. I currently hold a C2 European Level in spoken and written french, tested in grammar, language manipulation, listening, reading and comprehension.
I am writing my dissertation in french for my current degree of English Literature and French.

I have plenty of experience working with children and teens of all ages, between 6 months and 16 years, and can provide references from this experience. This work took place both in English primary schools, private English tuition and work as a teacher in a bilingual school in France.

Our son has had several English lessons with Rachel to work on his spelling, reading and comprehension during the summer holiday in preparation for him starting year 7 and he has enjoyed each lesson. Rachel has made the lessons fun and ensured the activities are based around topics he is interested in and this has built up his confidence and self esteem and we are extremely pleased with his progress so far.
