Information about Rachel
Hi, my name is Rachel. I am a 28 year old English teacher living in the centre of Glasgow. I am friendly, approachable, and have extensive experience of working with young people and young adults.
Having graduated from the University of Glasgow with a 2:1 in English literature and TV and film studies in 2012, I pursued my PGDE in English teaching at the University of Strathclyde in 2016. Furthermore, I was previously employed as a student support worker at the University of Glasgow and provided support to students with disabilities during lectures and seminars and therefore hold a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme), enabling me to work with children and protected adults.
I am currently a teacher of English at a high school in North Lanarkshire.
NB - I am willing to travel a total distance of 8 miles but charge £5 to cover travel costs if tutoring outside a 5 mile radius.
Availability: I am available most weeknights.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I have tutored privately for two years and was previously employed as a student support worker at the University of Glasgow to help provide support to students with disabilities such as dyslexia and autism.
Feedback For Rachel (3)
Rachel has been great, my daughter is finally enjoying English
Rachel is wonderful! She is friendly, has a real passion for helping students. Her teaching method is excellent and has put our 13 year old son at ease.
Rachel is always pre-prepared so the lessons are structured. She has a strong understanding of the type of homework our son is receiving and brings to the table helpful techniques and encouragement which is exactly what is needed.
Our son has also been encouraged by Rachel to email her, outwith their tutor times, with any pieces of English work he is doing and she will look over it and provide good feedback and suggestions.
We were nervous about hiring a tutor but would recommend Rachel to anyone who needs help with their English.
she is very enthusiastic and very helpful and My Son is benefiting from her sessions even in the few short weeks she has been tutoring him.
