Information about Amin

Hello! My name is Amin, I`m 21 and live in Plymouth, where I currently go to university. I have experience tutoring students and I aim to engage them. I enjoy working with enthusiastic students keen to learn and challenge themselves to gain a better understanding of the sciences, particularly Biology and Chemistry along with mathematics or economics. I am also able to help students gain admission to grammar schools through providing tutoring for the 11+ entrance exam.

I aim to deliver exam-focussed tutoring without compromising the depth of understanding required to attain high grades. My style of teaching comes from my firm belief that students should truly understand the concepts as opposed ‘memorising for exams’.

I myself have gained access to Dental School and am currently in my third year. I believe this puts me in a good position to help fellow students who wish to pursue a career in the healthcare field. I am happy to discuss and help with the complexities involved in the application process for the best chance of success- this is particularly useful given just how challenging the application process is and how recently I went through it.

I’m currently a Dental student in year 3. I have covered a wide array of science studies at university and this has given me a large breadth and depth of scientific studies. I believe I know my fundamentals very well. Tutoring whilst I was in sixth form has given me relevant experience to believe I can tutor well and understand what makes a good tutoring session with elements of the session focussed on clearing up confusion and misconceptions as well as keeping it content based and question driven with a focus on how to pass exams. Exam tips will be given at appropriate times. I discovered my passion for teaching from an early age when tutoring at my Sixth form, something I enjoyed and want to continue!
Please note I have completed A-levels in all the subjects I tutor to a grade of A or A*, and have also completed a further 2 years of education at dental school and am currently in my third year.

Seeing students successfully understand concepts and apply knowledge that they previously struggled with, is the most rewarding element of teaching for me.

I look forward to hearing from you please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. Thanks!

Availability: I am available on weekends (happy to do early hours till late evenings) and weekday evenings (from 5pm onwards).

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have previously tutored mathematics at key stage 3&4 whilst studying my A levels at school. I have also tutored students with learning disabilities.
