Information about Felix

A professional, DBS checked, young, friendly and organised personal tutor with a low-pressure approach to achievement and progress. I have lived in France for an extended period of time, and have worked in a professional setting in Italy. I also speak conversational Spanish and in the process of learning Portuguese.

Having recently moved to Twickenham to begin a Masters degree in Translation, I am looking to continue teaching in my spare time to fund my studies and keep my "toe in the pond." I love teaching and am keen to carry this on alongside my postgraduate degree.

I have worked for five years as a classroom teacher of Modern Languages, with two years experience as Head of Department. I was consistently graded "Outstanding" in observations from Senior Leadership as well as OFSTED, and regularly had colleagues who were new to the profession to come and observe me teach.

I have experience tutoring younger children (7-11), as well as students preparing for their GCSE and A Level examinations. Furthermore, I have tutored undergraduates wishing to enter teaching who need to enhance their French before entry on to their teacher training course. I have done this since 2010, during my Undergraduate degree, as well as alongside my teaching career over the past five years.

My tutoring focus is entirely on the client`s needs and motivation to learn. In a first tutoring session, I would spend a significant portion of time exploring my client`s weaker academic areas and finding out what it is they want to achieve, and what makes them tick.

I fully believe that a productive tutoring relationship comes from my clients feeling at ease and enjoying their learning, and I am proud to have a history of winning round "reluctant learners." My approach is personal, bespoke and based on a positive rapport with the learner.

Availability: Evenings and weekends.
