I am a Japanese Teacher at a British boarding school and a specialized college catering to individuals with special educational needs. I assist students in learning Japanese for various purposes including general conversation, GCSE, A-Level, JLPT, preparation for speech contests, and University degree studies. Each year, I conduct GCSE Japanese Speaking exams at various private exam centers. I have a Bachelor of Education from Japan, a Master of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology from Australia and did a Doctoral study at the Institute of Education, UCL in the UK (incomplete).
Availability: Mon. - Fri. Morning, afternoon, evening and night time

Ikuyo was very diligent and professional in helping my son with his Japanese GCSE exam preparation. She kept me well informed and set appropriate homework for him to improve. Very responsible and encouraging teacher. Highly recommended.

Super friendly and understanding teacher! I was doing Duolingo before, and could not form good sentences until I started with her. Ikuyo has been friendly and understanding, even when I kept repeatedly making mistakes, and helped me to form sentences while teaching me how to start writing Japanese properly. Even though with my broken Japanese, she is patient in helping me feel comfortable with her through all my lessons. I only stopped because I was doing too much intensive revision (outside of our lessons), but I wholeheartedly recommend her to anybody who wants to learn it, either just for something to do or for anything academic. She makes things easy for her students to learn, and if I ever got the chance to do lessons again, she`s someone I would go to.
