I conduct GCSE Speaking exams at private exam centres and schools and now became a Pearson’s Assessment Associate.
I am a Japanese Teacher at a British boarding school and a specialized college catering to individuals with special educational needs. I have a Bachelor of Education from Japan, a Master of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology from Australia and did a Doctoral study at the Institute of Education, UCL in the UK (incomplete).

Experience: With 20 years of language teaching experience, I have dedicated 12 years specifically to teaching Japanese. My students range from adults to university, secondary, and primary school students, including those who are homeschooled or have special needs. I love assisting students in learning Japanese for various purposes including general conversation, GCSE, A-Level, JLPT, preparation for speech contests, and University degree studies.

Ikuyo is always very kind and encouraging during my lessons. She`s good at ensuring each new phrase and word is repeated until the pronunciation is correct, which has really helped with my understanding of the overall language.

I contacted Ikuyo sensei as I wanted to brush up my very rusty Japanese before a trip to Japan. She has been absolutely delightful, very patient, quickly understood the level I was at and I have thoroughly enjoyed every lesson I have had with her.
