Qualified from Newcastle University (UK) with a Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Education (5-11). . In 2009 gained a 2:1 Degree from Leeds University (BA Hons) in Environmental Management therefore possessing a deep scientific knowledge to inspire and connect children to their learning. Have lots of experience tutoring KS2 and KS3 Science and maths.

Passionate in teaching ‘Mastery Maths’ and have experience teaching both schemes of; Shanghai and White Rose schemes and enabling children to understand the language of maths, and enjoying maths also a champion of girls into STEM.

In addition, another great passionate is Modern Foreign languages (MFL) demonstrating this is the volunteering undertaken with Reading Chinese School as a TA, gaining excellent experience teaching pupils of EAL. Also gained a high pass level in Chinese Proficiency Test Level 2 (Han Yu Shui Ping, HSK -2) and now working towards level 3. Have lots of experience working with pupils with English as an additional language.

Also, have experience of all major phonics schemes, and literacy for KS2 pupils. Have experience teaching Dyslexic students and working using holistic means to met their learning needs within English.

Experience: Mainly have experience within KS2, having sound knowledge of this curriculum and understand pupil progress that needs to be achieved within these years and monitoring systems to do this. Within these years, have experience of literacy scheme such as ‘Talk to Writing’ to enable pupils to establish key literacy skills and confidence within these years. Especially in assisting pupils makes that transition from KS1 to KS2.

Passionate in using mastery maths and used Shanghai maths to increase pupils ‘numeracy fluency’ mastery. Ran maths days and STEM projects within placements. Strive to ensure every child says they ‘can do maths’ and children start to enjoy maths!

Differentiation - huge variety working with children with different needs and have extensive planning and experience for helping pupil achieve their best. Have worked within a diverse and mixed classroom working with children with; Autism, Dyslexia and the Hearing impairment.
