Information about Thomas
I have recently completed a PhD in theoretical physics at Durham university. I now work as an associate analyst programmer for a local consultancy firm. I have spent years moving through the levels of physics and maths to get where I am, and so I have a lot of experience not only in the concepts, but I also think I have an edge when it comes to exams. I have a good knowledge of how to approach exams from a tactical perspective, and I can certainly help anyone make the step up to top marks, I myself was the highest scoring student in Physics three years running and ended up with the top degree, acquiring the Durham Doctoral Scholarship, which funds my PhD.
I also understand all the pressures associated with exams (especially physics and maths) and I think with regular tuition you can expect to move up two or three grade boundaries, as I can structure your thinking and your work and focus it to weak areas.
Availability: Please contact me for details.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have a passion for teaching, I have taught at Durham University as part of my PhD, as well as private tutoring of several students who have all moved up several grade boundaries during the tuition.
I have the highest awarded degree in Physics at Durham 2013, and have won several prizes including the Chalmers Prize, The Vice Chancellor Scholarship (£2,000), Graphical Excellence, and have been invited to present my Masters at the Rising Stars Research Symposium.
