I have a PGCE and MA in English and have worked in secondary education as an English teacher, personal tutor and Inclusion Teaching Assistant for over thirteen years during which I have taught English Language, English Literature and History from KS3 to A level with considerable success. I have also worked on exam preparation and essay writing skills. I have also aided students with their UCAS applications ensuring they are accepted to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.

I have a detailed knowledge of the National Curriculum for English and History and have worked with many students for whom these subjects are a struggle as well as more able students in need of an extra push or more personalised learning. I work in a style that puts the student at their ease and encourages them to grow and to develop their own ideas.

I believe children and young people must grow into independent free thinkers.

Availability: I am available during the week and over the weekend on a student by student basis.
