Oscar Mccaughey

Hello my name is Oscar. I`ve just recently completed my third year of studying physics at Royal Holloway, University of London. Next year is my final year of study where I will be pursuing my masters with an aim of specialising in condensed matter physics. Through my experience of learning science and mathematics at GCSE, A-level and undergrad I wish to share my enthusiasm for the subject with others and to help them overcome many of the obstacles which I myself encountered during my studies. Whenever possible I try to show students the deeper concepts and intuition behind the material they are taught. Not only will this prove beneficial in answering the tougher exam questions but will also in my opinion increase their enjoyment of the subject. It is an unfortunate truth that many teachers will simply give the student a set of equations to memorise without any real insight as to what they represent. Another key area I`m keen to give advice in is exam technique, there a set of tricks I`ve learnt through my years as a student which I believe can help optimise exam performance. Aside from my studies I also enjoy lifting weights, programming and swimming.

Experience: Last summer I tutored in A-level maths for a client, I`ve also helped my brother with his studies who is himself doing A-level maths and chemistry.
