Information about Gerard
I teach children of all ages how to code, that is how to write computer program to solve problems.
I also have specific Computer Science Programme for GCSEs and A Level, I cover both the old and the new curriculum.
Finally I teach Adult Learners and anyone who is interested in learning how to code but who does not want to sit an exams at the end.
What is Programming?
Programming is the process of writing and ordered set of instructions that are able to command a computer to solve a problem.
And why is it important?
We are living in a world dominated by technology. Understanding hardware and software is now as important as reading and writing.
The weekly coding programme takes students who are unfamiliar with, or have limited knowledge of programming and teaches them the basics of coding, build electronic circuits and design in a fun a fun environment. The hands-on approach makes the learning experience engaging because students codes from day one.
For children age group 9-14:
I use a combination of Raspberry Pi3 and the Python programming language. Each student will have their own Raspberry Pi.
