Information about Isa
Hi, my name is Isa and I graduated from Imperial College London with an integrated masters degree in Mathematics. I am a mathematician at heart and have been from a very early age but more importantly for you I am an extremely experienced, passionate and enthusiastic tutor.
Maths has always symbolised more to me than just an academic area of study, fuelling my desire to study it at the highest level. This shines through in my delivery of lessons, as I often throw in little anecdotes and glimpses of insight behind concepts that arent taught at school and are beyond the scope of the syllabus to increase my students understanding. Having recently completed my own education, I understand the challenges facing many students in preparing for exams, and I always seek to provide encouragement and build confidence since maths is ultimately about problem solving and tackling the most challenging problems.
As a tutor, I aim to establish and maintain a close working relationship with both my students and their parents. The impact of 1-on-1 tuition cannot be understated, since it serves as an alternative learning environment away from the classroom where individual needs are best identified and subsequently met. I always provide both students and parents with feedback to ensure lessons are as useful as possible and discuss how I can ensure the very best outcome for the student.
Given my personal achievements and wealth of mathematical knowledge, I can assist students in developing exam technique as well as taking them beyond the scope of the syllabus. My academic record strongly reflects how I tackled my own exams to maximal effect and can pass this onto students first-hand. This includes achieving a strong First-Class Honours degree at an internationally-renowned university, also coming in the top 10% of my cohort in Third Year and the top 20% overall. I also achieved he following module scores in my A-level Maths and Further Maths modules:
Core 1: 100; Core 2: 100; Core 3: 100; Core 4: 100; Mechanics 1: 100; Statistics 1: 100
Further Pure 1: 98; Further Pure 2: 100; Further Pure 3: 94; Further Pure 4: 98; Decision 1: 97; Mechanics 2: 92
Availability: I would prefer to take on students during in the weekends, since this is when I have more flexibility.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring since 2013, and it is something that I love doing for it allows me to couple my love of maths with that of using my knowledge and expertise to help others in their mathematical endeavours and ultimately achieve their ambitions in life. This is the foundation of my ethos as a tutor, to first understand each students needs before engaging them in a fun yet focused environment as to maximise learning and enjoyment. I have tutored many students of ranging ages and abilities, from the 11 Plus to A-level including those with dyslexia and EAL students, and have a proven track record of successfully improving the performance and results of my students, many of whom have achieved A and A* grades in their GCSEs and A Levels.
