I am a north London based Southampton University chemistry graduate. I am extremely passionate about maths and science, and very keen to help others get to grips with concepts I have previously worked hard to fully understand. Having been through the school system somewhat recently I have the advantage of remembering what my friends and I struggled with, and know what is required to succeed for GCSE and A level. A large part of succeeding is having confidence in your own knowledge and I believe I can help my tutees with that. I strongly believe that everyone is capable of doing well academically if given the right tools and confidence. I am a very friendly, outgoing and approachable person.

Since graduating I have gone on to complete my chartered accountancy (ACA) and have 4 years experience working at a professional accountancy firm.

Availability: I am available to tutor some weekday evenings and on weekends.

Experience: I have been tutoring AS and A level Chemistry (from various different syllabuses) and GCSE maths for the past 8 years and have helped bring students up from achieving a D to an A. I have taught a number of students in one-to-one lessons but also in small groups of 2 or 3.

I believe having a firm grasp of the syllabus and what exactly is required is very important to do well. Half the battle is knowing precisely what areas could be examined! Secondly I think it is essential to enjoy the subject, and I try and share my enjoyment for learning and the subject. Encouraging the student to do independent work in between lessons is also important to ensure that our sessions are as productive as possible.

I have also tutored accountancy for ACA and the accountancy syllabus of the Cranfield MBA with all students going on to pass their exams.
