Information about Barbara
I am a UK qualified teacher (QTS and Masters degree) who specialises in teaching and tutoring Spanish to A-level and French to GCSE.
English is my mother tongue but I speak Spanish fluently and French to a high level having been through the English education system - I find this makes my teaching extremely effective as I fully understand the challenges of learning a new language in the UK!
I have lived and worked in South America (Argentina and Bolivia) and always try to bring a cultural aspect into my teaching including appreciation of music, dance, food and festivals!
Availability: My availability is very flexible and I can be available both during the working day as well as after school hours, evenings and weekends.

Barbara has been an outstanding tutor in Spanish for our son`s GCSE. Going from failing GCSE Spanish 10 months ago, struggling with just basics we decided to find a private tutor, and recently passing his GCSE this year. There is no doubt that without private tuition, my son would not have passed. As a tutor, Barbara has provided first class tutoring consistently and more importantly has been able to keep my son motivated and keep him engaged during lessons so that he could improve. She was also able to quickly evaluate his language capabilities at the start and patiently teach him the basics which laid the foundation platform from which he was able to progress up to GCSE standard. Barbara always kept us up to date with his progress, and clearly cares that her students are happy, engaged and very impotantly enjoy the lessons. Thank you very much Barbara. We have appreciated all your hard work, patience and dedication.

My son`s GCSE Spanish was quite a journey - 18 months ago, he really didn`t enjoy Spanish and was not doing well. Barbara genuinely helped him realise that learning a foreign language is not only possible but actually fun! He loved his sessions and found them so helpful. I particularly valued Barbara`s organisation - lessons were booked well in advance and on a clear schedule - as well as willingness to adapt to his exam timetable and fill in extra sessions as needed, focusing as needed on the specific requirements of speaking, writing, reading exams. All round it’s been a hugely positive experience for us and I would highly recommend Barbara.
