Hello! I’m an experienced and passionate English specialist with 10 years in education. I deliver engaging, tailored lessons that build confidence, develop critical skills, and foster a genuine love for the English language. Whether preparing for exams or mastering creative writing, I support students of all abilities to achieve and exceed their goals. With extensive experience, including working with SEND students, I create a supportive environment where every learner thrives.

Experience: I`m an experienced English teacher with10 years of teaching experience at GCSE, IB, iGCSE, A-Level, Functional Skills, and KS3 level. I`m also an established, verified AQA examiner, which has given me a unique insight into what examiners are looking for and how to help my students achieve their best results.

In addition to my teaching experience, I have 6 years of experience as head of year, which has given me a pastoral element to my teaching approach. I believe that a student`s well-being is just as important as their academic progress, and I strive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all my students feel valued and heard.

I have held a variety of impactful roles, including Head of English, Pastoral Leader, and Senior Leader, as well as my current position as a Homeschool Consultant for Nottingham City Council. My teaching expertise extends beyond traditional classrooms, having worked extensively in alternative provisions with vulnerable young people and students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

I specialise in creating engaging, student-centered lessons tailored to different learning styles, helping students build their English skills, confidence, and resilience. Whether supporting students academically, emotionally, or socially, I am passionate about providing a holistic approach to learning that empowers every student to thrive.

In addition to teaching, my leadership roles have equipped me with the skills to develop effective curriculums, mentor staff, and implement strategies that drive student success. My work with alternative provisions has deepened my understanding of the challenges some students face and strengthened my commitment to ensuring that every learner has the tools and support they need to succeed.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, and exploring new places. I firmly believe in lifelong learning and bring this philosophy into my work, constantly seeking ways to improve my skills and knowledge.
