Information about Mikhaila
I am a firm believer in Education and I believe it should be accessible to everyone. I come from a family in which my parents didn`t go to University so I didn`t really have anyone to educationally look up to except my school teachers.
My aim is to open the minds of young people from all backgrounds into achieving the best they can and teach them that you cannot choose where you come from, but you can choose where you go. I find that people have a fear of maths that I don`t really understand, I want to teach people that mistakes are a good thing because that`s where learning takes place.
I can guarantee you`ll feel differently about maths after just the first session. The first session is complimentary :)
Availability: I am currently employed full time as a maths Coordinator in a Post-16 institution. I have a maths degree and have worked with children and young people both academically and in residential settings. My availability is mostly evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have excellent subject knowledge of maths as it is my passion and I have studied it up to degree level. I believe I have a patient technique when it comes to teaching. I have also worked with learners with common difficulties such as Autism, Aspergers, Dyslexia and many more. I have been teaching for 6 years and prior to that I spent 4 years alongside my BSc in Mathematics working in local secondary schools to tutor GCSE maths. I have worked with Children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. I have a true passion to teach and have worked with primary school to 6th form/college age and regularly run a well populated adult maths class.
