Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am dedicated to providing excellent education and would love to help you or your child reach their potential through my service as a tutor.

I understand that choosing the appropriate tutor is a difficult task especially on a site which promotes so many of us however, by this simple act alone I can tell that you are passionate about your child`s academic success, and I can assure you that I am just as invested.

I am insistent that education be about the process of developing and honing skill-sets required to become our own thinkers and to learn effectively. In my sessions I want to equip my students not only with the information and techniques required to pass exams, but with the study skills, confidence and good habits that will make them effective learners. Developing these skills will help them to enjoy their studies and pursue their interests without limitation. Frequent studies show that nobody learns in exactly the same way, and so with an initial assessment lesson I will get to know you and your child, we will identify their strengths and weaknesses and create a realistic plan using my skills and our collective knowledge. This will cover the techniques and content required by the qualification/exam they are studying for as well as to incorporate the development of key skills and habits, tailored to their style of learning. I want you to get the most out of your hard-earned money as well as to keep you assured that you are giving your child the absolute best tools for a bright, successful and independent future.

Every Monday - Thursday from 5pm onwards

Experience: During my own academic experience, I too had a tutor who supported and helped soldify what I was taught at school. I turned my love for English into a life-long pursuit, and achieved grade A* at GCSE, B at A-Level and then attended University to further study both the English Language and Literature.

After 3 years and gaining a 2:1, I then embarked on a two week placement at a secondary school which I fell in love with from day one. Working with teenagers and offering my help during lessons came quite naturally for me, which was also noted by the qualified staff who witnessed this. I turned a two week placement into a full-time job as an Assistant Teacher of English with the prospects of completing my PGCE (school`s direct) the following year.

I completed my training year at a school based in one of Birmingham`s most deprived areas with some of the most challenging students I may ever come across. As difficult as this experience may have been however, I thoroughly enjoyed and revelled in working with such an array of students and gained so much knowledge in dealing with various learning styles and difficulties.

I accomplished both my training and NQT year at this school and now I am preparing to work for the Department For Education in Manchester where I hope to make further impact on the runnings and success of schools around the Lancashire county.
