Hello!

My name is Hannah and I am currently undertaking my teacher training year after spending 5 years as a learning support assistant in primary schools around Wales delivering personalised numeracy and literacy interventions to children ages 3-11.

I can offer your child (ages 3-11) an enthusiastic and fun approach to both maths and English by using innovative techniques to make the learning both fun and purposeful. I will also make sure to address any confidence issues, a major and often overlooked cause for children falling behind in their school work. I am happy to teach poetry, drama, presentations, essay and creative writing tasks and work on hand writing and reading skills. The lessons will also emphasis the purpose of the work being carried out to instil a sense of pride in the child`s work. I have a full DBS check and am safeguarding trained.

At a higher level (GCSE- Degree) I also offer tutoring in English Language and Literature. I have a broad knowledge in these areas as English literature is my specialist subject and I can help address any problem areas in preparation for exam season.

Availability: I am available weekdays after 4pm and anytime on weekends.

Willing to travel: 30 miles

Experience: I worked as an Intervention specialist for Key Stage 1 and 2 in Literacy and Numeracy which aims to provide struggling primary school children with the knowledge and confidence to catch up quickly to their expected level of work. I would run my tuition sessions like I worked in this role. For example, I met the child, established a baseline of their understanding and identified any gaps in knowledge/misconceptions. I then worked with the parents to establish a clear path forward to directly address any issues and to provided work for in-between sessions to be reinforced at home. I do not believe in teaching through worksheets! Our learning will be much more practical based and a lot more fun :)

I have a Master`s degree in English Literature and a Teaching English as a Foreign Language qualification.

I have five years of tutoring experience in English and Maths, tutoring over 10 clients with ages ranging from 4-50.
