Information about Anthony
I am a very experienced tutor and teacher, having studied physics to PhD level, and with a PGCE in teaching secondary science. I specialise in supporting work from lessons or increasing grades for able pupils who have been disappointed with their exam results.
My usual tutoring method is to discuss what topics students would like to cover before sessions, then provide bespoke notes and exam questions for us to go through. We identify how the topic is examined and how best to answer, highlighting repetition and patterns.
Students identify what they want to study, and we do it!
Availability: Lessons can be arranged in person or remotely.
Happy to organise lessons as frequently or infrequently as suits the student. Any time out of normal school hours can be arranged.
I normally travel over to students on my bike within about a five mile radius of where I live.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am head of science and subject leader for physics in a top West London Independent school.
I have many highly successful years teaching science to GCSE standard (OCR, AQA, Edexcel IGCSE) and specialising in physics to A-level standard (OCR, AQA and Edexcel). I have also worked as a GCSE and A-level examiner for OCR and Edexcel. This gives me extra insight into exam structure as well as typical student responses and misconceptions.
My experience also includes many years tutoring, where I have carefully considered and developed my delivery.
