In 2013 I completed my PhD in Management Science, following a 1st Class Honours degree in the same field. The basis of these degrees were mathematics and statistics which are still my area of expertise. I now work as a business analyst where I continue to use these skills.

Teaching statistics and mathematics formed a big part of my PhD and is a passion that remains with me today

I have a keen interest in helping others to build their confidence and develop their knowledge in mathematics, and I feel with my in-depth knowledge and business acumen I can successfully pass this on to others.

Availability: Mon & Wed 17:30 onwards
Saturday 12:00 onwards
Sunday all day

Experience: During my PhD I was an undergraduate tutor specialising in statistics. I helped students with a full range of mathematical backgrounds to reach their full potential in all parts of the course. The courses focused on building the theoretical knowledge, and the practical use of this within exams and computer based projects.
I dealt with a whole range of abilities including those that had an initial belief that they didn`t like or "couldn`t do" maths. I always found it very rewarding to see the pleasure in the students` faces when they realised they could in fact do it all, just perhaps needed it explaining in an alternative way.

As part of my business analyst role, I am responsible for another member of staff, and as part of his development I am giving him regular one to one tuition with statistics to help him in his role.
